928 Lake CdA drive

Some friends in the Spokane, Coeur d'Alene area take a drive around Lake Coeur d'Alene with our families.

Chris Ford's '91 928 S4
Chris's S4 was really shining as he'd spent some time detailing and polishing it before the trip. The RMB sounded wonderfull as I followed him from Spokane, WA to Coeur d'Alene, ID to meet Levi.
Levi Hanson's '80 928, 46K miles
Levi Hanson's '80 928 looks great for a 20 year old car. He says a lady just made his day (week? month?) when she asked him if it was a 2000. I'd looked at buying this very car about 2 years ago but my wife wouldn't let me spend the money at that time.
David Schmidt's '90 GT, 70K miles
My '90 GT, 70K miles. If I'd known how much fun these cars are earlier I probably would have bought Levi's car 2 years ago anyway (and been divorced). Just as well I guess. Car ran flawlessly entire day, as it has since I bought it in July.
First stop, the lake overview
After the first 10 miles or so we parked off the road at a lake overview and stretched out legs and introduced the families. Levi had been leading, and proving that the '80 could still go faster than my wife was comfortable following.
The drivers and passengers
Left: Thuy, David (me), Corrine and Rachel Schmidt Middle: Levi and Dian Hanson with their grandson, Logan Right: Ann, Chris, Charlotte and ?? Ford
Lake Coeur d'Alene Idaho
We drove down the East side of the lake. This is a photo looking north with Tubb's hill on the left side of photo. Coeur d'Alene is behind that hill.
Lake Coeur d'Alene Idaho
A bit more west, Tubbs hill on right side. The CdA resort is just left of the hill there.
Lake Coeur d'Alene Idaho
More toward the west, a few of the other side of the lake.
Trailing shots, left curve
Here are some shots from the back of the pack. Chris leading with Levi in the middle. My wife took the first two and I took the ones without the dash showing .
Trailing shot, right curve
I really need to teach Thuy where the zoom on my camera is located...
Trailing shot, over the top
The hills allowed me to get this over the top shot of Chris's S4 ahead of Levi's car.
Trailing shot, left curve
One more around a curve then I handed camera back to Thuy so I could concentrate on driving.
A happy daughter in back
Rachel always has a ready smile for the camera. Corrine was behind passenger seat so Thuy couldn't get turned around enough for a shot of her.
Trailing shot, left curve
I zoomed the camera and Thuy took this shot.
Shot from the lead, rear view mirror
After lunch and gassing up Chris's shark I led. I finally convinced Thuy to take a few more shots towards the rear. This one didn't turn out too bad for a rear view mirror shot.
Back through the hatch.
More convincing got my wife to unbuckle and take this shot through the back. Not quite clear of her seat, but not too bad still.
